Mayor Perry has met with representatives from the Croydon Limited Partnership (CLP) to discuss Croydon’s town centre regeneration, highlighting the borough’s need for investment to provide a mixed use of jobs, homes, retail, education and culture.
The CLP is made up of representatives from retail developers and operators Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield and Hammerson.
Croydon’s Executive Mayor reiterated his commitment to getting town centre development back on track as the borough continues to recover from the Covid-19 pandemic.
There is an opportunity to harness post-pandemic opportunities and new ways of shopping, working and living, through a new vision for the Croydon town centre as a regional destination.
Mayor Perry is keen that Croydon’s partners and local businesses are on board in driving residents and visitors back to the high street.
This follows the Mayor’s commitment last week to support Croydon businesses by encouraging innovation, attracting investment, and cleaning up local high streets.
