Today, Jason Perry met with members of ECRA, alongside local Council Candidates Margaret Bird and Nikhil Sherine Thampi.
Many issues were discussed, including planning and sewage, but most of all was the sense that the Council is just not listening to residents. Over the last eight years, Labour has ridden roughshod over local residents with their planning policies. They have allowed over-intensification through the loss of family homes, and concreted over vital green spaces.
Jason Perry has pledged that, if elected as Mayor, he will immediately drop Labour’s design guide, the "developers' charter" which has brought so much unnecessary destruction to the borough. Under this plan, much of Croydon has been designated as areas for "focused intensification," with the character of the area changing despite strong objections. Jason has pledged that he will listen to Croydon and treat residents with respect.
