Buses transporting children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) have been equipped with tablets that play educational content to enhance their school journeys. The screens will display educational videos on numbers, the alphabet, and Makaton—a language programme that uses signs, symbols, and speech to aid communication.
Jason Perry, Executive Mayor of Croydon, commented:
“This is a great project that makes a real difference to journeys to and from our SEND schools in the borough.
“I am really glad to see that the pilot had results and look forward to hearing more feedback soon on the rollout.”
