I'm very pleased to have agreed the delivery model for the redevelopment on Regina Road.
Under Labour, the condition of the Council housing on this site was so appalling that ITV produced a documentary showing off the horrifying black mould and damp which residents were forced to live with.
Residents of the estate took part in a referendum asking whether they approved the demolition and rebuilding of the estate, with nearly 90% voting in favour.
Currently, there are 191 homes on the site. The proposed plans will replace these with 450 new homes, of which at least 200 will be Council homes. Residents will continue to be consulted on the architectural designs, and we will also continue to work with affected residents to find suitable alternative accommodation.
I'm committed to providing the residents of this site with Council housing they can feel proud to live in.
